Twistalocs™ is an Uncle Funky’s Daughter exclusive hair locking technique that offers clients an additional option for achieving small, bouncy, stylish locs. Twistalocs™ is the preferred loc cultivation method for clients who desire small locs, but prefer not to go through what is commonly referred to as the “ugly stage” or pre-maturity stage.
This revolutionary locking technique is achievable with a minimum of 3 inches new growth (virgin hair) to start Twistalocs™. For longer Twistalocs™, we use our soft kinky afro hair to extend the hair to the desired length.
The Installation
Average Twistalocs™ diameter size is appromixately 3/4 of an inch. Twistalocs™ may not be any smaller than 3/4 of an inch to ensure proper formation. To begin the Twistalocs™ process, a consultation is required with an Uncle Funky’s Daughter stylist. The consultation is complimentary and generally completed within 10 minutes. The average cost of Twistalocs™ is $375 and it takes an average of 6 hours to complete without extensions. Actual prices are determined based upon hair density, length of natural hair and length of extension hair (if applicable). Post-Installation
Approximately 5 weeks after the initial installation, clients return for a follow-up visit to their new growth groomed Twistalocs™ method. Each subsequent grooming appointment is recommended at 4 to 6 week intervals to ensure proper loc formation. Twistalocs™ transform into mature locs in approximately eight months.
