- How to purchase from Unclefunkysdaughter.com
Purchasing from Unclefunkysdaughter.com can be done online. If you have technical difficulties with purchasing online or have questions not covered online, please email ishop@unclefunkysdaughter.com or call us at 713-528-0888. Uncle Funky's Daughter is open 11 am to 6 pm CST, Tuesday through Saturday. If you don't reach us, please leave us a message, we will respond within 24 hours.
Step One: Add items to your shopping bag
Whenever you see an item on Uncle Funky's Daughter that you are interested in buying, click on the item photograph and a page dedicated to that item will display. You should see an 'add to bag' icon just below the item description. If the item is available in multiple colors, sizes or varieties, you will see those listed in the pull down menu above the 'add to bag' icon. Choose the color, size or variety you prefer from this menu and then click on the 'add to bag' icon. This does not commit you to buying the product; it simply sets it aside so that when you do decide to buy the item(s) you can do so quickly. After you put an item in your shopping bag you can either proceed to checkout and purchase the product or continue shopping. You can add as many products to your bag as you like.
Step Two: Checkout
When you decide to buy the items in your bag, click on 'add to Bag', located on the upper right-hand of every page on our site. This will begin the checkout process. The first page you see will allow you to select the quantity of any item you intend to purchase or to remove any item from your bag. In the next series of pages you will be asked to type information that will let us know where to send the order, how to send it and how you intend to pay for it. To make purchases you will need to order online and use a Visa, MasterCard or Discover.
The checkout sequence should take less than two minutes for first time customers. Within 24 hours of receiving your order you will receive an email from us confirming your order. We will send you a follow-up email when we ship your order. Unfortunately, we are unable to process telephone orders at this time.
- Is it safe to use my credit card?
We have taken many precautions to insure that shopping at Unclefunkysdaughter.com is safe and secure. We use the industry-standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to ensure that all credit card transactions are secure. The SSL system encrypts information that you submit to us via our Web site when you place an order. Encryption makes it extremely difficult for anyone to intercept information about you, your order, or your credit card information. Please remember that you play a valuable part in security as well. After you have finished using our site, you should log off and exit your browser so no unauthorized persons can use our site with your name and account information.
We assure you that every online transaction you make with us will be safe. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, your bank cannot hold you liable for more than $50.00 of fraudulent charges. In the event of unauthorized use of your credit card, you must notify your credit card provider immediately in accordance with its reporting rules and procedures.
In some cases, an order may be placed on hold for a security check. This random selection requires that we take additional precautions to ensure the security of your order. In some instances, Uncle Funky's Daughter will require that you fax a copy of your driver's license and/or matching credit card to ensure you are the holder of the card. These measures are taken for your security and protection.
- Which forms of payment do you accept?
Uncle Funky's Daughter accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover.
- How do I submit my work for sale on UncleFunkysdaughter.com?
If you are a designer with a funky, eclectic vibe and you're interested in selling your work on unclefunkysdaughter.com, please email 5 to 6 sample photographs of your work or a link to your website to freshfunk@unclefunkysdaughter.com along with the description and retail price of each item. We will review your work and respond if we are interested in featuring your collection within 3 weeks. Please note that Uncle Funky's Daughter is highly selective and we review over 150 submissions a month, therefore we are unable to respond to every request. Sorry, no phone calls will be accepted.
- What are my shipping options?
We use United Parcel Service (UPS) to ship our products to you, and we offer several options for expedited shipping. For orders to Alaska and Hawaii we currently offer only expedited shipping through UPS. We plan to expand our shipping options to Canada in the future.
- How do I check the status of an order?
To check on the status of an order you placed, you can log onto your account area of the Uncle Funky Online Store at any time. You can also email us at ishop@unclefunkysdaughter.com. If you prefer to speak to someone, please call us at 713-528-0888. Uncle Funky's Daughter will be open 11 am to 6 pm CST, Tuesday through Friday and 11 am to 6 pm CST Saturday. If you don't reach us, please leave us a message with your name, order number and telephone number. We will respond to email and voice mail within 24 hours.
- How long will it take to get my order?
There are two factors that affect when you will receive your order. The time it takes for the product to leave our warehouse, and the time it takes for your order to be shipped by UPS. All orders for in-stock merchandise that are placed prior to 3 pm CST, Monday through Friday, will leave our warehouse within the next 3 business days after your order is placed. All orders for in-stock merchandise that are placed after 3 pm on Friday or Saturday will leave our warehouse within the next 5 business days, except during holidays. If your order leaves our warehouse, the time it takes UPS to deliver your order will depend on the type of shipping service you have selected. Here is a summary of typical shipping times for the five levels of shipping service we offer:
Standard
Orders shipped with Standard Service within the 48 contiguous states will arrive 3-6 business days after the order leaves our Houston warehouse. Houston Metro area orders will usually arrive in 1-2 days. UPS Shipping Map.
Preferred
Orders shipped with Preferred Service will arrive 3-4 business days after the order leaves our warehouse.
Expedited
Orders shipped with Expedited Service (including AK and HI) will arrive 2-3 business days after the order leaves our warehouse.
Express
Express orders placed prior to 5pm CST Monday through Friday should arrive by the end of the following business day. Orders placed after 3pm CST on Friday, or on Saturday, should arrive by 3pm local time, 2 business days later.
Express Saturday
Express Saturday orders may be placed between 3pm CST Thursday and 3pm CST Friday for delivery on the following Saturday. For Express Saturday, please add $15.00 to the Express shipping pricing.
International shipping
We regret that we are not able to provide international shipping at this time. Please view special instructions on shipping to Alaska and Hawaii.
For shipping to Alaska and Hawaii, please select "Expedited" shipping, as this is the only shipping service available. There is no overnight express shipping to AK and HI.
Uncle Funky's Daughter Rush
For an additional $25, orders received by 3 p.m. will be expedited through our warehouse and shipped out next day using the UPS shipping option selected during purchase.
It is the sole responsibility of the customer to provide a viable shipping address. We are not responsible for the item if UPS has to make multiple attempts at delivery. There are also no refunds on returned items due to non-deliverable delivery attempts, as long as there was no error on the part of Uncle Funky's Daughter.
- How do I return an item?
The Uncle Funky's Daughter Satisfaction Guarantee
We want you to love everything that you buy from us. However, we will accept returns on items that are unworn, with tickets intact, in un-opened original packaging, accompanied by the original invoice and/or in their original condition and that are not return exclusion items (see below).
ALL return requests must be made ONLY to returns@unclefunkysdaughter.com within 5 business days of receipt. Absolutely NO phone return requests will be accepted. You will be sent a return authorization number via email and must return the item via UPS within 5 business days of the receipt of the authorization number. We reserve the right to refuse returns that do not comply with our policies. All return shipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. We are not responsible for shipping delays or shipping expenses. We regret that since many of our items or handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces, they cannot be exchanged for an exact like item. Items that are made-to-order cannot be returned.
We cannot accept returns of certain items, including:
- Any item that does not have a return authorization number
- Any item that is not in its original condition, is damaged, worn or is missing parts
- Any item that is returned after the return deadline listed above
- Any body care, hair care or facial products (due to perishability and contamination)
- Any Sale, "Final Sale", Closeouts or Discount merchandise
- One of a kind or handmade items.
Refunds for returns shipped after 10 business days from the arrival date are subject to a 50% restocking fee. No returns after 15 days will be accepted.
Please ship all orders prepaid and insured with the items wrapped securely in the original packaging. Items must be in original, un-worn and undamaged condition. We are not liable for items that are not shipped according to these policies or items that are lost or damaged during shipping. We recommend shipping using a service that provides a tracking option. Once the returned item is received and accepted for return, a credit for the price of the returned item(s) will be issued only to the exact credit card used for the purchase; no exceptions. Allow at least 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your credit card statement.
- Why do you charge tax to Texas residents?
We charge tax because we have a physical presence in Texas.
- What if I haven't received my order yet?
Please refer to the tracking number provided to you via email to track your package. If you have additional questions, please contact us at 713-528-0888.
